In some places you will complete the pre-learner course which will take place in a dedicated facility away from other motorists.
You will also need to drop by the license registration centre for your town, this is sometimes known as a motor registry, or the DMV in the USA. The time when you need to show up varies depending on the area where you live. Here you will complete various motorbike theory tests.
If you have ticked all of the boxes in the above steps then the will be let loose onto the open road. In some areas you may need to still be supervised by a licensed rider. The type of motorbike that you will be allowed to ride at this stage is going to depend on the area where you live. There are a couple of main systems that are put in place by the governments. The first is based on the size of the engine of the motorbike, which is usually restricted to 250cc. The second is based on the power to weight ratio. You will need to find out which of these methods is used in your area.
